Unconscious biases

Cognitive biases or unconscious biases are thinking mechanisms that can be more or less systematic, unconscious, irrational or illogical. They impair our judgment, giving rise to unjustified or even false conclusions.

They can greatly impact how we perceive and interact with individuals. The way we treat the person about whom we are biased then affects their own behavior as they react, which can in turn reinforce our initial illegitimate prejudice.
